Deepavali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by followers of Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and some Buddhists. It’s a 5 day festival, beginning on the 28th day of the dark half of Ashwin and ending on the 2nd day of the bright half of Kartika (in the Hindu calendar).
