The thing about World Heritage sites in Asia is that obviously they’re incredibly awe inspiring and magical, but to enjoy them you sometimes have to run a barrage of people wanting to either sell you things or talk to you.

Borobudur in Java, Indonesia has it too, but it’s not sellers of tacky souvenirs, it’s bunches of students more interested in chatting than in history… which actually added to the fun because they’re all incredibly charming. I was shooting in black and white so I thought I’d shamelessly take advantage of the situation and trade conversation for a portrait.
